Distance, time and space (DTS) seemed to be the formula for 3 Cayon High School (CHS ) alumni of the 80’s and 90’s to connect and communicate with a purpose.  From St. Kitts to England to Florida, Carl Mills, Bertram Pennyfeather, and Dr. Joycelyn Archibald Pennyfeather kept in constant contact with each other after leaving the halls of the prestigious Cayon High School (CHS). Conversations extended to and were embraced by Seifroy Phillips, Dr.Bernadeth Prentice, Heather Pennyfeather, Sandra Morton, Andrea James, Sheila Morris,  Doreth Millard and Corrine Mussington Archibald.

These alumni of CHS kept the conduit buzzing through constant conversations, utilizing the advanced technology for all its worth.  Conversations evolved around many issues and finally about a reunion amongst friends.  That did not seem to be enough so the CHS4 Collaborators (CHS4C) tried settling for a class reunion.  That also was not enough. Then the decision was made,  and as the conversation evolved that this just would not be any class reunion but one that involved CHS Alumni from within the diaspora.

The seed was planted, and the consensus was that irrespective of the DTS, the coming together of friends, classmates and family was important especially to those who benefited by walking the halls of the CHS.  While the CHS4C collaborated one of the 4 expressed the idea of showing gratitude and appreciation to past principals.  Consequently, the CHS4C began reaching out to other CHS alumni who were connected to the CHS in some form or fashion.

Hence, the ‘CHS BEST’ was conceptualized comprising of past students, teachers,  and principals. The reunion amongst friends became a non-profit organization which has a goal to showcase and appreciate the pioneers and products of CHS.  CHS BEST through Distance, Time and Space resulted in ongoing connections with a purpose for the CHS alumni within the diaspora to bond and  share the history of the CHS through virtual and physical avenues. CHS BEST HERE WE COME.
